Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson

Baroness Tanni Grey Thompson first represented Great Britain at the 1988 Paralympic Games in Seoul, winning the first of 16 Paralympic medals, a bronze in the 400m. Between then and the end of her sporting career, Tanni added a further 11 gold and 4 silver Paralympic medals as well as winning six London Wheelchair Marathons.

Since her retirement, Tanni has remained involved in sport as a director of UK Athletics and member of the board of the London marathon.

Appointed to the House of Lords in 2010 as a crossbench peer, Tanni took the title Baroness Grey-Thompson of Eaglescliffe in the County of Durham with her contributions including the Welfare Reform and Legal Aid Bill.

Tanni is co-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Women's Sport and we are thrilled that she has agreed to speak at the Women's Sport Network event in April 2014.
