In order to get your team, club or great individual story into your local media you need first to establish your target audience. Are you trying to get your weekly fixtures or results published in your local paper? Or are you trying to publicise an amazing sportswoman in your area who has achieved great things?
1. Ask yourself:
Whether you want to publish weekly results or a special story, you will need to build up a contact list of key people, sometimes called a media list, in your local media. It may be a long or very short list according to your needs.
2. Use your local information and directories to get the contact details. You may also find these websites useful.
3. Once you have the general contact details:
