Table tennis is the 19th most popular physical activity and the 4th most popular racquet sport.
Around 62,500 women play table tennis at least once every four weeks, with 21,600 women playing at least once a week.
There has been no significant change in female participation between2008-09 and 2009-10.
Table tennis is more popular with men than women: more than twice as many play.
