Rounders is the 20th most popular activity for women and the 5th most popular team sport - around 21,000 women play at least once a week.
Rounders is a sport that appeals to women from BME backgrounds – 17% of all female players are from a BME group compared with 11% in the general population. Only seven other sports have a larger BME profile.
Weekly rounders participation has fluctuated very slightly over the past three years so it is hard to predict a trend.
