Fencing participation overview
Around 6,400 women took part in fencing at least once a month in 2008-09, a significant decrease since 2007-08
Women make up a third of the British Fencing Association’s board, which is higher than the average NGB (21%)
Fencing is the 34th most popular participation sport for women, behind archery and shooting
Sport England is the Government agency responsible for advising, investing in and promoting community sport to create an active nation.
