Commenting on England’s outstanding Rugby World Cup victory in Paris, Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation Chief Executive, Ruth Holdaway, said:

 

‘It’s utterly brilliant to see England crowned World Champions and the squad, staff, management and the whole RFU family deserve huge congratulations on a result which will serve to inspire women and girls throughout the country.

 

‘The skill, dedication, commitment and ability demonstrated by the England team throughout the tournament are a credit to women’s sport in the UK and yesterday’s victory is yet another chapter in an excellent year for women’s sport.

 

‘Everyone at the Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation has watched this World Cup with keen interest and we were all delighted to see these amazing competitors crowned World Champions.’
